In 1963 Simat Properties was inaugurated, combining the names of Mrs Beckley's two sons, Simon and Matthew. For the first few years the company was overseen by June Beckley with architectural input by her husband Derek.

At first the company was busy renovating cottages in the Reigate area as second homes. During this time her third son, Adam was born. The company then went on to build flats and maisonettes in and around Beckenham. At the beginning of the 1980s June took the company in to London converting and re-instating Victorian houses in Islington.

Shortly thereafter her eldest son, Simon, joined the company and it was decided to concentrate all future work to the leafy locations of Hampstead, where the company has produced many luxury top-end houses and flats for the past 30 years.

Matthew and Adam have subsequently joined the company - making this a truly family business.
